Lasers can be used in various ways to measure distances or displacements without physical contact.

In fact they allow for the most sensitive and precise length measurements, for extremely fast recordings (sometimes with a bandwidth of many megahertz), and for the largest measurement ranges, even though these qualities are usually not combined by a single technique.

Depending on the specific demands, very different technical approaches can be appropriate.

They find a wide range of applications, for example in architecture, inspection of fabrication halls, criminal scene investigation (CSI), and in the military.

Techniques for Distance Measurements

Triangulation is a geometric method, useful for distances in the range of ≈ 1 mm to many kilometers.

Time-of-flight measurements (or pulse measurements) are based on measuring the time of flight of a laser pulse from the measurement device to some target and back again.

Such methods are typically used for large distances such as hundreds of meters or many kilometers.

Using advanced techniques, it is possible to measure the distance between Earth and the Moon with an accuracy of a few centimeters.

Typical accuracies of simple devices for short distances are a few millimeters or centimeters. phase shift method uses an intensity-modulated laser beam.

Compared with interferometric techniques, its accuracy is lower, but it allows unambiguous measurements over larger distances and is more suitable for targets with diffuse reflection.

Note that the phase shift technique is sometimes also called a time-of-flight technique, as the phase shift is proportional to the time of flight, but the term is more suitable for methods as described above where the time of flight of a light pulse is measured.

Frequency modulation methods involve frequency-modulated laser beams, for example with a repetitive linear frequency ramp.

The distance to be measured can be translated into a frequency offset, which may be measured via a beat note of the sent-out and received beam.

Interferometers allow for distance measurements with an accuracy which is far better than the wavelength of the light used.

Most laser tape measures are very accurate, even our recommended budget model is accurate down to +/-3mm with the more advanced models, accurate down to +/- 1mm. With a standard tape measure you could never be this accurate as a slight bend or kink in the tape, would mean your measurement would never be as accurate as a laser distance measurer.

Continuous measurement

All models have this simple feature and it works like a manual tape measure. You can move the laser tape measure, away or towards a fixed point, and the reading will automatically change. This is ideal for situations such as putting up fixing or picture frames, where you want to space them all apart evenly.

Stake-out function

Used to measure the same length repetitively. For example, you may want to fit a spot light under kitchen cabinets every 300mm. From a starting point, the feature would tell you every time you reach another 300mm, so you could fit a spots light exactly 300mm apart.

Look for models that conform to the new ISO international standard for laser measuring instruments. This means, they have been tested and will accurately measure in normal working conditions, not just in ideal situations in a lab.

Batteries and Battery Life

Laser tapes have either replaceable or rechargeable batteries. Battery life depends greatly on the amount and type of use. Most units will need new batteries or need to be recharged frequently (every to hours). So, it is a good idea always to keep spare batteries with you and to power off the unit when you arenot using it. Some units have an auto shut-off mode to help increase battery life.

Many models can store multiple measurements, so you will not need to stop and write down measurements as you go along. Most models store at least a few measurements. Look for one that stores multiple measurements if you are planning on using it for big or complex jobs. Memory is not important for small jobs though.

Other Features

Many laser tape measures also come with convenient accessories. Most models include batteries, and some come with a carrying pouch or a holster and belt loop. Most laser tape measures come with a basic manufacturer’s warranty, and the manufacturer will replace the unit if it is defective or breaks within the warranty period. Rechargeable units generally include a rechargeable battery and include a battery and charger.

Some laser tapes are made for heavy outdoor use and have durable cases, scratch proof screens or back-lit screens. Others are made for lighter indoor use. Look for something durable and shock, scratch and water resistant if you are using it outdoors. Scratch resistance is a nice feature for indoor use, but you will not need one that is water resistant if you are just using it inside.

Mid-range laser measure

This covers laser measures that are used in general construction. It’s for people who are into construction jobs and need to do a lot of measurements. This works mostly indoors but the “indoor” may be a fabrication yard. This can be used by both professionals and amateurs depending on the frequency of use.

Hi-end laser measure

This covers laser measures that leave little or no room for errors. If you’re into construction and fabrication jobs where the slightest error in measurement can be risky, then the hi-end laser measures should be your best option. This is mostly used by professionals and they usually cover the widest ranges with no errors.

Now that you know the categories, do you know what your measurement needs are? If yes, our job is half done. The next step is to look at the features that most laser measures have, compare them to your measurement needs and voila, you have all the information needed to make your purchase decision. Even if you don’t know your measurement needs just yet, we trust that you will, by the end of this review.

Please note that while it might be good to have a multimeter handy (for situations where a laser measure isn’t ideal), they are different tools. Also don’t forget to use adequate eye protection when using a laser measure as pointing a laser directly into the eye can cause permanent retina damage. Maximum caution should be taken when using this device.

The price of a product is usually reflective of its quality. Different factors affect the price that a brand places on its products. For instance, a brand that is already known for certain product lines may have more expensive options for that product. That doesn’t mean that lesser known brands don’t have products with similar or better quality. Many of them, due to competition, often lower the price of their products so as to compete fairly with the known brands. So, it’s safe to say that price is not a true test of quality. This is also true of laser measures.

Why go for a laser measure with complicated functions when all you need is one with which to measure length or distance from one point to another? Some functions of a laser measure are: addition and subtraction, continuous measurement, single indirect measurement, double indirect measurement, combined indirect measurement, Pythagorean measurement, angle measurement, multi surface area measurement, maximum measurement, minimum measurement, trapezoid measurement, etc. Your job need determines whether getting a laser measure with these number of functions will ease your work or whether it will be too many unnecessary functions.

Some laser measures have back-lit screens while others don’t. If your job requires that you work in dark rooms or very bright light, it’ll be preferable to choose a laser measure that won’t make you squint or strain your eyes to read its display. Some laser measures also have multiple line displays which can be helpful in reading different measurements at once.

Battery life is very key to determining your choice of laser measure. Most options run on either replaceable batteries or rechargeable batteries. If you work for long hours, it’ll be more convenient to work with those with replaceable batteries as your job may not be interrupted.

Do you need a laser measure with features such as a sound marker, auto shut off, Bluetooth connectivity, etc.? These are some interesting features that add to the functionality of your laser measure, so be on the look out for them.

How To Use A Laser Distance Measure

To make a simple distance measurement using a laser measure the user must place the instrument at one end of the line that is to be measured and aim the laser beam at a solid target such as a wall or cabinet.

If a solid object is not available then a plastic target can be placed at the required destination to allow the laser beam to be reflected.

Next, the button is pressed and the distance is measured and displayed on the laser measure’s screen.

If a simple distance was all that was required then the job is already done but a whole range of options still exist for the user.

Areas and volumes can be calculated by taking further measurements and making use of the on-board functions to perform the calculations for you.

Each model is different so it is always advisable to spend some time with the user manual before attempting some of the more advanced tasks.

Different Techniques Used to Measure Distance

When you go out to buy Digital Distance Meters, the first thing is to know the product features. The product features help you to choose the best Distance meter for your specific sets of requirements. Here are the prominent features which help you narrow down your search of Digital Distance Meter to an appropriate selection.

Time of Flight

The most common form of laser rangefinder operates on the time of flight principle by sending a laser pulse in a narrow beam towards the object and measuring the time taken by the beam to be reflected off from the target and returned back to the device.

With the speed of light known, and an accurate measurement of the time taken, the distance can be calculated. However, this technique is not so commonly used for measurement of high precision sub-millimetre as the speed of light is high. However, triangulation and other techniques are widely used for Measurement Of distances.

Tips to Select Digital Distance Meter

When selecting one of these tools to purchase, we recommend you first compare the range or distance they are rated to measure(based on your work requirement) since some have better range than the others. Features to Consider

Prior to purchasing consider the various uses for your measuring tool. Are you are simply looking to replace your measuring tape for logging distance, or do you need a device that can perform and store calculations? Measuring tools have advanced functions that can make almost any professional task go a bit faster.

Look for the total range of any single device. If you consistently work in a smaller area or on bigger commercial sites or larger homes, you need a device that has a larger measuring range. You may also need a device with larger memory capacity for complex projects, such as road construction.

Laser Distance Measurer

Laser distance measurers are not only faster and easier to use than linear tape measurer, they are also more accurate. Simply aim the device to your end point and the distance displays on the screen. Many of these devices can also calculate various angles and perform calculations. Some of these quality measuring tools have memory capacity for auto calculations that are common to your projects or profession.

Higher-end models have a much higher range than standard models. For example, a lower-range model can measure distances of up to 20 meters. This standard model should suffice for single unit dwellings, smaller homes or offices. Larger units measure distances of 300 to 800 feet. These are well suited for larger homes and commercial projects. Road workers require distance measurers with longer ranges, and should also look for models that have Bluetooth functionality.

There is also precision to consider. Lower-end models will ensure accuracy up to 1/inch. For general measurements and estimates, this is sufficient. For jobs where finite accuracy is crucial, such laying pipe, grading and pouring a foundation or grading for a road, look for a model that guarantees accuracy of 1.0 mm or less.

Multi-Angle Measurement

One of the primary advantages of how laser measuring tools function is their multi-angle capability. Simply mount a multi-angle laser to a tripod, fasten it to a column or hang it from a wall and allow it to measure multiple angles at once. Many multi-angle lasers also perform multiple calculations for you with the data collected. Depending upon the nature of your work, this could help improve your estimates and overall workflow.

Key Accessories for your Measurement Tool

There are several different types of laser accessories that help make your measurement tool function with greater accuracy. A wall mount is a simple and affordable solution that allows you to mount the laser level to a single spot. This device typically attaches via a clip or a clamp to ceiling trim or a beam. Look for options that include several height adjustments for different types of measuring tools.

Pole systems and rods help elevate the height of the laser level to measure distances either high above or below you. Telescoping rods can adjust to different lengths depending upon the situation. Tension poles secure almost anywhere in the room for convenient and steady 360-degree measuring, or capturing multiple angles. These accessories are easily mounted and taken down without tools or hardware.

The most popular accessory for the professional is the mounting tripod. Most manufacturers offer a line of tripods designed specifically for their larger multi-angle transit levels and surface lasers. They also work with point lasers to hold a steady line for all types of measuring circumstances.

Look for tripods made of heavier and sturdier equipment for outdoor uses, such as roadwork and surveys. These are typically rated for professional construction jobs and are weightier and made of higher-grade materials than lower-end tripods. They may also have a center column that can make smoother and quicker height adjustments and could have a greater overall height allowance.

Electronic and leaser measurement tools provide more accuracy and may be easier to use than their analogue counterparts. Bluetooth functionality helps make calculations on the fly and add data to existing plans. These versatile features can determine how to choose a measuring tool to help your projects go more smoothly and help make on-site estimates more accurate.

Accurately measuring long distances

DEWALT’s DW03050 laser distance measurer can measure up to a distance of 165-feet with uncompetitive accuracy of 1/8th of an inch.  (They also sell a DEWALT DW0310330-foot  measurer accurate up to 1/3of an inch). This one feature puts this laser distance measuring tool ahead of the competition. This comes as a very handy tool for construction workers, estimators, electricians, woodworks, drywallers, contractors and anyone from any kind of a project in need of accurate measurements.

Leica DISTO D2

What I took into account when selecting the most accurate digital laser tape measure was not only accuracy in distance, but also accuracy over distance.  I expect measuring tools to be the most accurate the closer the measurement is.

But what I want to know is does the accuracy hold up over a long distance.  That is why I chose the Leica DISTO DLaser Measure as the most accurate.  Over a distance of 330feet, the DISTO Dstill is accurate within 1/1of an inch.

Reasons To Own A Digital Laser Measuring Tool

Have you seen those people who just walk up and hold a compact looking tool against a wall and immediately know the square footage of a room?  Yes, I have too, and it made me want to have that super power too.

The tool they use to unleash this super power is called a laser measure.  Or in my case, since I use it instead of a tape measure in many cases, a digital laser tape measure.

How Accurate Are Laser Measures

But if you have incredibly far distances you need to measure, and have even more money to spend, then there are laser measures that will go up to 82feet, and still be as accurate as 1/2inch at that distance.  Now that’s incredible.

Uses For A Digital Laser Tape Measure

Some of the more advanced laser tape measures with more functionality even have stud finding features and will alert you at the correct distance where one should be located.

Floor Installation

Doug Mahoney

After dropping, extending, and scrubbing the blades of 1different tape measures with 60-grit sandpaper, we found that the best one is the classic 25-foot Stanley PowerLock Tape Measure. It’s our pick after 4hours of research and three annual updates to this guide, including another 1hours of work this year testing against new tools. That’s because the PowerLock delivers the best basic combination of durability, ease of use, and accuracy—and all for a very low price. In fact, the PowerLock is one of the least expensive tape measures that we’ve looked at.

How we picked

DeBoer and Clement agreed that a tape measure that can stand out unsupported for 7-feet is more than enough for at-home use.

Laser characteristics to be measured

Today’s performance measurement products can gather all kinds of information. Laser output power is a good indicator of the system’s overall performance. Tracking this measurement over time gives engineers or technicians the information they need to determine when corrective action is necessary. However, laser power does not tell the entire story about the system’s behavior.

Beam profiling is an important set of measurements. Along with the visual representation of how the laser’s beam is sized and shaped, other useful measurements can be generated. These may include ellipticity, Gaussian or top-hat fit, beam propagation ratio, or the beam parameter product. Laser spot size, or beam waist, and laser output power also are critical measurements to be taken when trying to understand the laser’s interaction with the process.

Figure 2D and 3D beam profiles of a laser’s raw beam. Ellipticity: 97%; Gaussian goodness of fit: 90%.

When components start to age and become contaminated, thermal effects become more of a factor. When losses occur due to contamination, laser components can change shape. Even the slightest changes can result in a shift of the laser’s focused spot location. When this happens, the beam size being applied to the process will increase, resulting in a relatively lower power density. Dynamic focused spot location should be measured periodically in order to ensure optimal laser system performance.

When working with pulsed lasers, the time duration of the pulse and the pulse shape often are good indicators of how efficiently the laser’s pulsing technique is performing. The programmed pulse shape, pulse duration and the pulse frequency (i.e., repetition rate) should be measured periodically and compared with the laser’s settings.

Performance measurement techniques

The need to measure laser performance is as old as the laser itself. There have been many tools and techniques that have served the industry well, and they still are in use today but may not be providing the complete story of how your laser is performing. Some laser engineers still use simple, convection-cooled thermopile devices, known as “power pucks.” Similar in nature to a meat thermometer, the element is placed in the beam’s path and away from the focused spot, and the laser is fired for a given amount of time. The device then presents a number — either a temperature reading or an output reading, the latter of which is measured in watts. While this can indicate how the laser is performing at that point in time, the data usually is incomplete.

Electronic power measurement gives the engineer a better indication of how the laser is behaving. A water-cooled thermopile sensor allows for the collection of laser power measurement data throughout the course of several minutes. This sensor, coupled with either a meter or interface to a local PC or laptop, provides a graph of how laser power changes during this time period. Dynamic trends in laser power tell the engineer what might be wrong with a laser. For instance, a consistently low laser power — in the range of to 1percent or so — indicates that optics should be cleaned or changed; a drop in laser power over a few seconds indicates a damaged or well-aged optic in the beam’s path; and erratic power readings could indicate something wrong with the laser source, such as a faulty power supply or a resonator gas leak.

Line Lasers

Pinpoint alignment by converting to the laser equivalent of blue chalk lines—green for indoors, red for outdoors—that can be viewed across open spaces and on walls, floors or suspended items. Hilti line laser tools are useful for aligning suspended ceilings, piping, sockets, junction boxes and more.

Turning The Unit On and Off

Once the battery is correctly installed, most brands of wireless digital thermometers simply require users to engage the trigger mechanism in order to turn the unit on and begin operation. An automatic shut-off feature is typically included in all models which will turn the unit off after a set period of time (usually between and 1seconds).

Selecting Unit of Measurement

Infrared thermometers typically allow users to be able to change the unit of temperature between Celsius and Fahrenheit subject to their individual requirements. Most models use Fahrenheit as the default, or pre-set unit of measurement and the LCD screen will generally have either a °C or °F symbol displayed to confirm the current setting.

To change the unit of measurement, users should refer to the instruction manual accompanying their infrared thermometer. In most cases however, once the unit has been turned on and LCD screen comes on, users can change the temperature scale by pushing the function buttons underneath the LCD display marked “°C/°F” until it is the correct setting for the application.

For those models that do not have a “°C/°F” function button, there is typically a switch contained in the battery compartment which can be used to adjust this setting.

Laser Pointer and Backlight

Most models come with either a single or dual red laser pointer to assist with aiming the digital pyrometer and a backlight to enable the LCD display to be visible in dark or low-light environments.

In some units these two features are permanently enabled and cannot be turned on or off manually. In others, these features can be manually adjusted either via the feature buttons underneath the LCD display or switches located inside the battery compartment. Separate symbols will usually be displayed on the LCD screen when these features are turned on.

Measuring a Temperature

To measure a temperature, all that is required is to point the unit at an object and pull the trigger. The temperature reading will usually appear on the LCD screen in less than a second.

Once the trigger is released, the reading will normally continue to be displayed on the LCD until a new temperature measurement is taken, or the unit automatically shuts itself off after a pre-set time.

If using a single laser pointer to assist with aiming, it is important to note that some models set the laser a small distance from the center of the temperature measurement. With a dual laser pointer, the area in between the laser dots will often be the spot where the unit will take its measurement. As there are slight differences between models, it is recommended that users review the instruction manual prior to operation to ensure that they will be taking the temperature measurement from the correct area.

It is also important to consider the distance-to-spot ratio of the unit prior to taking a temperature measurement. Further discussion on distance-to-spot ratio and field of view can be found in “Factors to Consider Prior to Purchase”.

There are more advanced features which accompany certain models of wireless digital thermometers which are beyond the scope of this basic set of instructions. Emissivity is one feature of all infrared thermometers which are a major factor in temperature measurement and has been reserved its own special section for a detailed explanation.

Temperature Range

One of the first considerations a prospective buyer of an infrared thermometer should take into account is the range of temperatures that the unit is able to measure. Obviously if the thermometer is unable to read temperatures of the upper or lower limits required by the end user then it will not be suitable. That said, the growth in the number of models available on the market allows for great variety in choice to the consumer.

Traditionally pyrometers were designed to measure the surface temperatures of objects with a very high temperature however with the advancement of technology has come the innovation to also allow for the measurement of materials which may be extremely cold.

Many models of infrared thermometers can comfortably measure temperatures within a range of -50°C to 500°C (-58°F to 932°F), however premium models offer a user the ability to measure temperatures in excess of 1,000°C. Again the primary consideration is the intended application of the device and the budget of a prospective buyer.

Infrared Thermometer Applications

Thermometers have been used as a measuring device for temperature for centuries and the invention of infrared thermometers has allowed users to be able to take accurate and reliable measurements of surface temperatures without requiring direct contact with an object.

After time, temperature is the second most frequently measured physical unit and various fields depend heavily on accurate temperature measurements as an important indicator of product quality or equipment conditions. Technological innovation and efficient mass production techniques in recent years have seen a decrease in the cost of infrared thermometers and an increase in their reliability. This in turn has seen an increase in new applications for these diagnostic instruments.

Professional and general applications for wireless digital thermometers are limitless only by the imagination and the following is a summary of the more common uses of these devices.

General Applications

Many of the professional applications of digital thermometers can be of equal benefit to the general consumer and within the home.

It is important to remember that infrared thermometers only measure surface temperatures and not internal temperature. So for some popular applications in and around the home, they will provide only a very general guide of internal temperature if that is the intended purpose. Their increasing popularity for such applications lies with in their ability to measure temperature quickly and without making a mess.

The above list is a sample of some of the cool uses of an infrared thermometer in and around the home. Their application is limited only by the imagination and they are an invaluable device for every home. Digital pyrometers are easy to operate and now that they are more affordable, there really are no excuses for every family to enjoy the benefits and efficiencies they can provide.

We Want to Hear From You!

Manual leveling lasers require you to manually level them through the adjustment of footscrews and bubble vials. Self-leveling lasers automatically find and maintain a level within a specific range. With some lasers, you can use the bubble vial for a “rough” level and then the laser will more accurately level itself. Some automatic leveling lasers will continuously level themselves as needed and will even shut off if they get out of level by a certain range. Typically, self-leveling lasers level with the use of an internal pendulum, while automatic leveling lasers level by electronic servo motors.

Horizontal vs. Dual-Beam Lasers

Horizontal beam lasers project a single beam, whereas dual-beam, or split-beam, lasers show horizontal or vertical beams to establish a regular plane, as well as produce a reference point such as a plumb-up dot on the ceiling.

Most Popular Horizontal Rotating Laser

The Leica Rugby 50 is the most popular horizontal rotating laser because of its ease of use and durability in the field. The Rugby 50 has a simple, one-button operation and is fully automatic.

Primarily used in general construction, this model is very rugged, reliable, and accurate – perfect for today’s contractor. This laser has a high-impact composite housing, is fully sealed with an enclosed head, is watertight for all conditions, and has a long battery life.

The Leica Rugby 50 is designed to always turn on in automatic self-leveling mode, so you do not need to worry if the laser has been set up correctly. The H.I. or elevation alert function monitors the laser’s leveling. If there is significant movement or disturbance of the tripod, the alert function will activate and the laser will stop operation and sound an alarm to prevent possible errors.

The Rugby 50 continuously self-levels during normal operation, and if a small vibration or disturbance causes an out-of-level condition, the head stops momentarily and the emission LED will blink until the unit re-levels.

Most Popular Rotating Laser for the Value

The Leica Rugby 800 Series (810/820/830/840) are the most popular rotating lasers for the value. With more functions than the Rugby 50, this series offers simple and reliable one-button lasers that protect against mistakes. The single axis slopes up to 45° with a manual slope adapter, and the built-in 1cm detection window allows you to easily detect its beam over the entire distance.

The Rugby 820 is ideal for concrete forming, pad placement and framework leveling, and setting foundations and footings. The Rugby 830 is most used for precision jobs such as long-range leveling applications in general construction and machine control up to 4,430 feet and 140° F.

The solar panel enables you to power and charge anywhere, anytime, and the maximum temperature stability guarantees the highest accuracy across the entire operating temperature range.

The Rugby 840 laser has the highest application performance for any leveling, aligning, and squaring applications on site. Smart Targeting enables tie-in slopes in single or dual axis and automatically aligns at the touch of a button. Smart Lock monitors and corrects the laser plane in real time, ensuring you always have reliable results.

Most Popular Dual-Grade Laser

These lasers also have agricultural applications such as land leveling or tiling, and are used for concrete forming and framework, retention ponds, and setting foundations and footings.

Features include a simple-to-use, five-button keypad, real-time grade matching, dual batteries, a scope mount in both axes, a visible and invisible laser beam, grade capability in both axes, long-range remote control, axis alignment, laser plane stabilization, and enhanced operating range.

Most Popular Interior Construction Laser

The Leica Rugby 5Interior Laser is the most popular interior construction laser we sell. It provides contractors with everything they need for just about any leveling or alignment job, from drop ceilings and floor layouts to setting supports for windows, cabinets, interior walls, and more.

With the Leica Rugby 55, the stationary beam can be quickly positioned in 90-degree increments, making layout easier. By selecting zero RPS with the head speed button, you can automatically position the rotating head to plumb down for alignment of the laser over a reference point.

A “sleep mode” feature allows you to use the remote to put the laser into sleep mode for two hours, so you can save battery life without disturbing your setup.

The Leica Rugby 5features an easy-to-use keypad, a watertight seal, variable head speeds, selectable scanning modes, a bright red beam, and an alkaline or rechargeable battery pack. Accessories include an IR remote control, wall mount bracket, ceiling target grid, alkaline battery holder, and a single-cell alkaline battery.

Most Popular Line and Dot Laser

The Leica Lino Series are popular line and dot lasers that are available with either three or five points, or with crosslines.

The Leica Lino Pis an easy-to–use, three-point laser is ideal for plumbing projects. This self-leveling laser comes equipped with Power Range Technology™ and a magnetic multifunctional adapter.

The Leica Lino Phas five laser beams. The beams are exactly at right angles to each other, which makes setting-out tasks easier and interior fitting-out more precise and efficient. This easy-to–use, self-leveling laser also comes equipped with Power Range Technology™ and a magnetic multifunctional adapter.

Most Rugged Construction Laser

The Leica Rugby 800 Series are some of the toughest lasers on the market today, popular because of their rugged design.

These lasers include the Leica PROTECT lifetime manufacturer’s warranty plus a two-year Knockdown Warranty – a major selling point to our customers. This warranty covers the entire product lifetime, including free repair or replacement of all defective parts. If any knockdown occurs within two years, all repairs to the internal self-leveling assembly are also covered under the policy.

These lasers also include a new generation of lithium-ion battery that is unbreakable and can be charged anywhere, anytime on site. The Rugby Series are also the only lasers in the industry with a military-grade certification (MIL-STD810G) and IP6rating.
