Best volleyballs 2018 – [Buyer’s Guide]Last Updated January 1, 2020
Best volleyballs of 2018
Many brands have introduced volleyballs on the market. These brands have resulted in a variety for the user. These require that the consumers be well aware of what they are buying so as to make the best choice. I’ve based my selection methodology on customer feedback, the size, functionality, and budget to meet various demands.
I review the three best volleyballs on the market at the moment. However, after giving you the TOP list, I will also give you some of the benefits you stand to gains for using it.
Test Results and Ratings
Why did this volleyballs win the first place?
I don’t know anything about other models from this brand, but I am fully satisfied with this product. I was completely satisfied with the price. Its counterparts in this price range are way worse. The product is very strong. Its material is stable and doesn’t crack. I really enjoy the design. It is compact, comfortable and reliable. And it looks amazing!
Why did this volleyballs come in second place?
Managers explained me all the details about the product range, price, and delivery. The material is pretty strong and easy to wash if needed. This is a pretty decent product that perfectly fitted the interior of our office. I recommend you to consider buying this model, it definitely worth its money.
Why did this volleyballs take third place?
I liked the design. We’ve been using it for 2 months and it still looks like brand new. I hope that the good reputation of the manufacturer will guarantee a long-term work. This price is appropriate since the product is very well built. It doesn’t squeaks nor bents. Looks great in my apartment.
volleyballs Buyer’s Guide
Tachikara SV5W Gold. This is my favorite indoor ball. People seem to like the newer Mikasa and Molten balls, but I like the old traditional one. I’ve bought a couple of these throughout the years.
Molten Pro Touch. This seems to be the ball of many universities a few years ago. It feels like a harder ball to me, but people seem to like it. I personally like a softer ball, but if you want a “hard” ball, this is good.
Mikasa MVA330. I bought this ball in Taiwan. Nice ball. For some reason, I feel it is easier to slam this ball. People say it’s harder to receive. Can’t actually say I agree with that, but I definitely don’t pass as well as I use to with this ball. That being said, that might be more my problem than the ball. I haven’t really played competitive vball for years.
Mikasa MVA200. I can’t even tell the difference between the MVA330 and the MVA200. The 200 is used as game ball. I pretty much use mine as practice. Both balls feel the same to me. Taiwan shops and even Taiwan ballers will try to tell you that one is full leather and the other is a composite, but that is just not true. I couldn’t tell the difference, and I even googled it to check. Some say the 330 is softer. If that is true, then only slightly. Granted, I no longer play vball competitively. Maybe these two balls feel different in higher competition. However, if you put these two balls in a pepsi challenge, i bet people can’t tell. The 200 is the Olympic ball and costs considerably more. Like to hear other opinions from those who tried these balls. Not really interested in sales pitches.
Molten Super Touch. I think that is what the ball is called. I don’t like it that much, but I have played with people who love it. It has deep grooves and is really soft. I actually don’t like my volleyballs with grooves that are too deep, but if you do, try this one.
FoRapid Volleyball Bag
This functional and durable volleyball storage bag ideal for traveling just light with you volleyball accessories and your balls. This is capable of holding full-size number sports ball with circumference of 29.inches or even less.
Molten Volleyball Bags
This is also one of the best volleyball bags available in the market today. This is a unique rectangular nylon volleyball bag particularly designed for volleyball players and even coaches. This bag can even be utilized by travellers.
The Right Football Bladder for Your Ball
It may be argued that a football is only as good as its bladder. After all, it’s the bladder that determines the quality of its bounce.

Some gyms are great-for instance out home gym allows for really good shots, as the lighting is better than a lot of places. But some gyms are just terrible-from old, old college gyms with terrible lighting, to huge convention centers.
And I do play around with settings when the girls are warming up, or when other teams are playing, but it is so hard to tell if the shot that looks good on the 3″ screen is going to look good when uploaded to a larger screen.
Mizuno Wave Lightning ZVolleyball Shoe
This volleyball shoe from Mizuno has two different versions – one for men while the other for women. Both of these versions actually boast of a low-cut and classic design.
I love the fact that these shoes are lightweight, allowing me to move around effortlessly when playing volleyball.
You will also note that it holds the parallel wave plate exclusive to the brand. This specific feature creates impressive lateral stability. Such benefit is a good thing if you want to showcase your quick lateral movements while in court.
The good thing about the shoe is that it is versatile that you can use it in actual games and during practice. Both shoes are also constructed out of textile/synthetic materials. They have rubber soles and non-marking outsoles.
The version for men features a dynamotion fit, dura-shield toe guard and an air mesh material. On the other hand, the ones designed for women boast of their Mizuno intercool feature, as well as the same dynamotion fit.
Aside from that, Mizuno makes use of its Breath Thermo line technology in booth shoes. Such technology, which is exclusive to the brand, generates heat from absorbing moisture, allowing you to stay warm despite cool temperatures.
Asics GEL-Rocket Volleyball Shoe
Just like the previous product, the GEL-Rocket volleyball shoe from Asics has two different versions – one for men and one for women.
I have to highlight the fact that Asics did a good job in ensuring that both men and women get what they really want from the shoes.
Both made of synthetic and imported material, the quality of the shoes is undeniable. I love the rubber sole integrated into both shoes as such ensures that you’ll have freedom of movements while also keeping you comfortable and secure.
ASICS GEL-Upcourt Volleyball Shoe
GEL-Upcourt Volleyball Shoe is another footwear from ASICS with versions for men and women. The version for men is constructed from synthetic and imported material, as well as a rubber sole.
ASICS Women’s GEL-Rocket Volleyball Shoe
This footwear from ASICS is another of the best volleyball shoes specifically designed for women. It works well for women out there who wish to play volleyball for recreation purposes.
One of the many things I enjoy about this shoe is its lightness. It is very light, particularly the upper, thereby promoting ease of movements. You will also most likely fall in love with the improved traction integrated into this shoe.
History of Spandex
Spandex shorts hit the workout scene in the 1960s, but really gained popularity throughout later 20th century as health clubs and exercise participation increased. Spandex is the same as elastane, as both terms define a material that is made of a specific polyester / polyurethane blend (typically 85% or more). The names can be used interchangeably. Lycra, also virtually the same in construction as spandex and elastane, is a branded name. Lycra is Dupont’s version of spandex. If this is making your head spin, we created a full glossary of compression gear terms for you to use.
Pay attention to the inseam, and make sure it matches your use. This is an example of a short, inch inseam.
Spandex (and lycra, elastane) has definitely become a favorite of the athletic scene, not only for its flexibility and stretchiness, but also because of its excellent ability to wick away moisture and sweat.
Spandex Shorts Recommendations
Recommending spandex shorts is a little like recommending cars. How much do you have to spend, and what kind of car do you need? Still, we will do our best to outline our favorite spandex, compression, and spandex-blend shorts on the market today. This includes several garments made of Lycra, which we group into the spandex category.
We will go in order of most expensive / highest-end, to least / lowest.
The Asics low-cut shorts are great for sports like volleyball, but might be too short for some other uses.

CAMPBELL RIVER — One of them is entitled ‘The Talent Code’, another ‘The Mind Gym: An Athletes’s Guide to Inner Excellence’. There’s even one called ‘The Dysfunctions of a Team’.
With the academic demands that her senior year of high school demands, Sarah Chase admits that she hasn’t found the time to begin reading any of those three books just yet, but the Grade 1volleyball standout at Campbell River’s Timberline Secondary promises she is going to make the time this summer to crack them open as she prepares to enter the next phase of her exciting career.
Chase, who helped lead Timberline to second place at the recent B.C. Triple A championships, edged out twin sisters Nicole and Megan McNamara of the South Delta Sun Devils, the team that beat her Wolves in the title game. The McNamaras are each headed to UCLA next season on beach scholarships. Chase will play both indoor and beach in the Bay Area, at St. Mary’s, in Moraga, Cal.
When it comes to practice and then competing on the court in matches, Chase is all business. But if you’re getting the idea that she is a master at keeping things light, you’re exactly right.
ASICS Men’s GEL-Upcourt Court Shoe
Here is something you will really like. ASICS is proud to introduce to you one of the highest performing volleyball shoes. And it is none other than the ASICS Men’s GEL-Upcourt Court Shoe. Equipped with a Rearfoot gel cushioning system, this shoe offers enhanced cushioning for great playing experience. It also boasts a combination of synthetic leather and a mesh upper to help provide comfort and breathability.
Mizuno Men’s RXVolleyball Shoe
Mizuno has something that will make you smile; the Mizuno Men’s RXVolleyball Shoe. Designed with new seamless upper, this shoe offers a lighter and improved fit. It also features the Parallel Mizuno Wave Technology that enables it to evenly disperse shock waves. Plus it is equipped with an Enhanced AP midsole, which has increased rebound and ensures optimum cushion durability.
Most volleyball shoes are made with comfort in mind. And a good number of them have a rear-foot gel cushioning system that helps improve comfort. They also have air mesh and mesh underlays that provide superior breathability as well as forefoot comfort. Ideally, volleyball shoes provide great arch support to make sure you are comfortable at all times.
Gym floors and courts tend to have smooth finishing, which is potentially dangerous if the pair of shoes you are wearing does not have enough traction. And that’s where volleyball shoes come into play. Manufacturers of these shoes understand that you will be playing on a smooth surface. Therefore, they equip volleyball shoes with superior grip to avoid tripping and other inconveniences.
Drawback of Volleyball Shoes
We only noted two major drawbacks of volleyball shoes, and they include sizing and the weight.
Some of these shoes do not have half sizing like 10.5, 11.5, 12.etc. And this may bring in a lot of inconveniences, especially if you wear sizes like 10.5, 11.5, 12.etc. Fortunately, not all volleyball shoes have a problem with sizing; hence, this should be a lesser problem.
While more than a few volleyball shoes are super lightweight, others are somewhat heavier. And this is a concern, considering that volleyball is all about jumping; hence, you will need that flight. Having a heavier shoe will, therefore, do more harm than good. The good news is you can avoid heavy volleyball shoes since the market has lightweight ones.
Footwear are recognized to be another crucial a part of these apparels. While selecting the dimensions, you have to make certain they easily fit in an effective way, neglecting to which might cause huge discomfort and could restrict game play.
First of all thanks for reading my article to the end! I hope you find my reviews listed here useful and that it allows you to make a proper comparison of what is best to fit your needs and budget. Don’t be afraid to try more than one product if your first pick doesn’t do the trick.
Most important, have fun and choose your volleyballs wisely! Good luck!
